kids-brushingFor over ten years, Dr. Fatima Vafai and her friendly professional staff at Sincere Smiles have been serving the greater San Jose Bay Area community with exceptional family dental services.

We value the close family relationships we share with our all our patients.  Our goal is to see you with a beautiful healthy smile.

Come visit us today! Walk-ins welcome!

At Sincere Smiles not only do we treat adults but we also love seeing your family and kids as well. We see children as young as 3 months old. We play their favorite movie while in the chair distracting them from all of tools. We also offer Nitrous.

“I had a lovely experience at Sincere Smiles. The entire staff was welcoming, accommodating, knowledgeable, and kind. The procedure went extremely smoothly and I am very happy with my Zoom whitening. Drove 30+ minutes out of my way to get here but it was definitely worth it!” ~FP

A sample of our family dentistry services are listed below:

Teen Invisalign

Invisalign Teen allows teenagers to straighten their teeth without metal braces. They’ll have straighter teeth with fewer visits. Since the trays are removable teenagers can remove them and freely brush and floss their teeth without getting any cavities during the process.  We can start the process as soon as 9 years old as long as the first molars and the four front permanent teeth are fully erupted.

Space Maintainers

If a baby tooth is lost too early and nothing is done about it, the surrounding baby teeth will start to lean into the open space and close the space up, leading the permanent teeth underneath to come in crocked. In cases like this a fixed appliance is made and cemented into the space that will keep the space open for the permanent tooth to come out and will eventually fall out or can be removed by the dentist.

White Fillings

Tooth colored fillings are made from a mixture of glass or quartz filler. They are chemically bonded to the teeth (versues silver fillings that are retentively placed into the tooth and can leak over time). Since they can be adhered to your teeth they are more conservative than silver fillings. In other words, less tooth structure needs to be removed. They are a long term solution for small-to-mid size cavities that are subject to moderate chewing pressure.

Baby Root Canals & Crown (Crowns for baby teeth)

When a baby tooth is severely damaged by decay causing it to need a baby root canal, a crown (also called a cap) is often placed. A crown strengthens the tooth, protects the remaining tooth structure and keeps the space open for the permanent teeth to erupt

Extraction (mainly due to orthodontic reasons)

Occasionally teeth need to be removed to help eliminate crowding, usually baby teeth and seldom adult teeth.

Nitrous

We offer nitrous oxide to children and adults in the office to help relax the patient. However, we give kids a great discount  (%50 off) to make sure parents can afford a great dental experience for their children. In many instances, kids do not even need to get numb when they use Nitrous as the gas numbs them up.

This is what we have now:

Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) sedation dentistry is also available upon request. Fearful patients as well as young children find nitrous oxide especially useful. The effect of nitrous oxide is often remarkable. A patient that was anxious just a minute or two before treatment will become relaxed and calm. If you are nervous before or during dental treatment, ask us to use nitrous oxide — it works wonders!

Digital xrays

We use special sensors appropriate for kids to take digital xrays of the children.

Laser Surgery

Occasionally when minor surgical procedures are needed on kids, we can use our Diode Laser to perform the surgery. The benefits include, fast procedure,  no stitches required as the laser cauterizes the area and no post op infections since the laser beam kills the bacteria.

Sportsguard

Did you know %13 to %39 of tooth injuries occur during sports and %80 of these injuries affects one of the front teeth? Adult and children who play sports such as football, soccer, ice hockey, boxing, etc. should also wear an athletic mouthguard to prevent tooth fractures and tooth loss due to sports. This can also be made by your dental office.
